Are We Healers?
By Paul Bucky President of the International Foundation of Bio-Magnetics,
the only organization teaching & presenting Bio-Magnetic Touch HealingTM worldwide.
This is the first of a series of articles the purpose of which is to investigate various concepts and questions about healing and related issues. In this issue we look into the idea of calling ourselves "healers," as it relates to the "Just Touch"TM philosophy of Bio-Magnetic Touch HealingTM. We encourage your replies to the ideas presented here and hope that it will be a catalyst for further discussion on these pages and within the "healing community."
Many times people ask us whether we consider ourselves to be healers, and if that is what we teach others to be. My answer is, "No!" We are not healers, simply because we don't DO anything. As it states in the Bio-Magnetic Touch HealingTM teaching manual: "It is through this manual that an individual will be taught how to assist that natural process (of healing) rather than to 'do' something."
An 87 year old doctor from Los Angeles (who, by the way, is still practicing medicine at a major hospital) explained to me that his experience showed him that pain, suffering and disease are really just a matter of a disharmonious relationship between parts of our body. He also told me that pain and disease could vanish from perception when that harmony was reestablished. So we can see that the light touch of Bio-Magnetic Touch HealingTM on specific points is merely an attempt to persuade the body to bring itself back into harmony by utilizing the body's own natural inherent healing abilities.
Thus the Bio-Magnetic Touch HealingTM system is being shared with people to show them how to help friends and family in their own healing process. "The only requirement," states the manual, "for an individual to practice the technique is a simple intent to help one's fellow human beings. Anyone who has an inherent love or compassion for those who are suffering can perform the methods of Bio-Magnetic Touch HealingTM without limitation."
Nowhere in the teaching program of the Foundation do we speak of a "healer." The performer of the technique is always referred to as an "associate" or "practitioner." We use the term associate because of the definition in the dictionary: (1) one often in the company with another implying intimacy or equality; and (2) one having an interest in common with another.
The key point of consideration is equality with a common interest, for both associate and recipient, of health and well being. Thus if two people can merely come together in agreement of that simple intent, the healing process would then be able to "just happen."
"The idea," continues the manual, "that curative powers may be invoked by ANY individual without recourse to religion, potions, social status or other agents may seem absurd, but results are the criteria by which any method should be judged."
It is exactly those results that we, as human beings, can perceive. As we perceive these changes in the physical and emotional well being of those with whom we share Bio-Magnetic Touch HealingTM, we are given the wonderful opportunity to remember that unknown, inexplicable quality of life. Although we can never know why healing takes place, we can try to explain it in thousands of ways, as many people do. Whether we are of an intellectual, material, religious or spiritual nature, each of us inevitably explains the result in the way that best fits our own particular belief system.
This is the beauty of Bio-Magnetic Touch HealingTM: explanations have no bearing on the effectiveness and simplicity of the technique; explanations have no bearing on the fact that everyone can perform this technique without regard to "level" of consciousness, initiations, age or accumulated knowledge; explanations have no bearing on the opportunity that each of us now has of reclaiming our birthright of health.
So no, we are not teaching people to be healers. We are merely trying to make available an opportunity to all people whereby they may accept themselves as total Human Beings.
